Supporting Marburn Academy
Marburn Academy, like most not-for-profit independent schools, depends on both tuition and charitable gifts to support ongoing operations and programs. The generosity of the Columbus community enables Marburn to provide the finest research-based, college preparatory education to bright children with dyslexia and ADHD. We are profoundly grateful for the time, talent, and resources given by so many in our internal and extended family on behalf of the students and educators at Marburn Academy.
Ways to Make A Difference:
-
Annual Fund-The Annual Fund helps maintain the day-to-day operations of the school. This Fund supports areas such as academic and extracurricular activities, faculty salaries, advances in technology, and student scholarships.
• Cash gifts are the traditional form of contributions, paid in cash or by check.
• Credit Card gifts are accepted through our online contribution form.
-
Scholars Trust Program-A three-year program which offers a K-8 student in need of financial assistance the ability to attend Marburn for three academic years.
-
Appreciated Securities (held by broker)-Gifting appreciated securities offers
a two-fold advantage: first, the donor avoids capital gains taxes, and second, the donor receives an income tax deduction in the calendar year of the donation.
-
Matching Gifts-Over 1,000 companies match donations made by their employees and retirees to independent schools. Individual gifts can be doubled or tripled through corporate matching gifts; just ask whether your employer has such a program.
-
Tribute Gifts-Gifts from the Tribute Fund are sent to a recipient in honor of, in memory of, in recognition of a specific occasion.
- Leave A Legacy-An endowment gift is a gift in perpetuity. When you make a gift to Marburn’s Endowment Fund, the principal is added to the endowment, while the income generated is directed toward the donor’s designated purpose.
-
Special Event Sponsorships-Our major community events are supported by corporate and individual sponsorships with the proceeds benefiting our Scholarship Program.
We are able to accept credit cards, cash, checks, money orders, or wire transfers.
For other kinds of gifting, please write a designation on your check or on a note.
If you need further assistance, please contact Laura Hirsch (433-0822) or Marjorie Garek.
