Apple AV Support Specialist - Full Time (12 months; Hourly)
Summary and Scope of Role
The Associate Head of School is chiefly responsible for ensuring Marburn’s school program reflects the institution’s mission, values, and cultural expectations. Additionally, as a direct report to the Head of School and as a member of the Executive Team, the Associate Head of School will collaborate effectively to ensure the institution as a whole thrives in the short and long term. This position reports to the Head of School.
Responsibilities

Manage confidentiality aspect of student, parent, and colleague relationships, and of internal Marburn affairs according to established school guidelines
Establish and maintain appropriate personal “boundaries” in relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Attend and participate in professional development opportunities
Abide by all policies articulated in the Student and Employee Handbook and other school and board policies
Represent and support the school at various functions both internally and externally relative to the role
Effectively perform other duties assigned by the Head of School and/or Division Head
Support the school and its leadership
Serve on school-wide and standing committees, as needed
Engage in continuous learning to maintain and enhance knowledge of the subject area
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in first-tier technical support and troubleshooting assistance for macOS devices
Utilize Mosyle, Apple School Manager, and Apple deployment techniques to manage the existing and growing inventory of MacOS and IOS devices
Maintain accurate inventory of computers and iPads
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications in academic and administrative environments
Assist with the setup and deployment of new Mac computers and devices
Implement, support, and maintain classroom technology setups and systems
Determine the source and nature of computer malfunctions using diagnostic software
Provide repair to in-warranty and out-of-warranty Apple devices
Conduct research, create documentation, and design solutions as necessary
Setup and install computers, monitors, and peripherals; relocate existing equipment as necessary to support faculty, staff, and administration
Provide “Apple genius” level of service
Provide training to faculty and staff in the proper use of macOS systems and applications
In addition, support general A/V needs by meeting with event organizers and ensuring that equipment is set up and ready for use including troubleshooting issues during the event
Serve as primary A/V technician for various-sized meetings and events as directed in classrooms, the Blackbox, and Flex, including setting up and managing sound mixers, microphones, and video cameras
Proactively identify campus A/V improvements and work with the Director of Technology to develop, propose, and recommend solutions about how to improve current systems and processes
Provide post-production services for filmed events, including media conversion, media storage and delivery in optimal format
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology
Qualifications, Education, and Skills
Mosyle Training or Certification is preferred
Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field
2+ years of experience providing technical support for macOS devices in education or
similar environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
A proactive and customer-focused approach to support, with a commitment to delivering outstanding service
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of MacOS and iPadOS required
Experience working in a school environment is a plus
Certification in one or more of the following is highly desired:
Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT)
Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC)
Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA)
Physical Requirement
Ability to stand, traverse, and present in front of the students for extended periods of time (“two-plus hours”) or more
Ability to visually detect, observe, and recognize
Verbally and audibly communicate and exchange information with the ability to position oneself to do so
Ability to participate in outdoor activities of the school, as needed
Ability to move, lift, and position:
Regularly up to 10lbs
Frequently up to 11lbs-30lbs
Occasionally over 30lbs
Rarely up to 50lbs with assistance as required
Hours
Monday-Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with the staff member to be available, as
needed, after 4:30 p.m. for meetings with parents, teachers, administrators, or other duties
Occasionally, the staff member will be required to participate in certain activities such as field
trips, afternoon or evening events, and overnight or weekend programs that will occur outside
of the regular daily hours mentioned above (e.g., Graduation, Voyageurs Trips, Middle Division
DC Trip, Curriculum Night, Parent Conferences, Graduation, Discovery Nights, Dances, etc.)
