Social Media Intern 

Marburn Academy, an independent day school devoted to serving the educational needs of students who learn differently in New Albany, Ohio, is currently seeking a Social Media Intern. The Social Media Intern will support the marketing and communications efforts for  Marburn Academy. 

The Social Media Intern will report to the Marketing and Events Coordinator. This position is part-time and will require 10-15 hours per week on site for one semester with the possibility to extend the placement into a second semester. Responsibilities include the following: 

Primary Responsibilities 

The Social Media Intern will assist in execution of Marburn Academy’s marketing and communications strategy as it relates to social media. Projects may include: 

  • Creating a comprehensive social media plan that integrates school activities, events, student and alumni highlights, holiday recognition, relevant educational news, and more
  • Developing content for social media that may be used on other platforms such as Marburn’s website or in email communications 
  • Execution of the social media plan including scheduling posts, responding to comments, and monitoring engagement 
  • Analyzing social media audience data and engagement analytics to determine what  content is resonating with constituents 
  • Taking photos of students and activities during the school day and at school events
  • Organizing and editing photos 
  • Executing administrative tasks, as needed 

Experience and Skills 

  • Strong writing skills
  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Interest in photography, a plus
  • Willingness to try new things and ask a lot of questions
