Carolyn Wall

Carolyn is a results-oriented servant leader with over 25 years of experience in financial and operational roles, assisting public and privately held manufacturing and software companies grow worldwide. Carolyn’s diverse career reflects her demonstrated track record of delivering on strategic priorities and driving change. She also brings deep corporate governance knowledge gained as the Director of Internal Audit reporting to the Chairman of the Audit Committee of a public company, participating in quarterly board meetings for over five years, serving on a variety of non-profit boards, and transitioning a family owned company to a 100% employee-owned S-corporation.

Most recently Carolyn served as Executive Vice President for the Henny Penny Corporation, a $250M equipment manufacturer serving the most well-known restaurant brands worldwide. As EVP, she led the Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Product Strategy, Brand Marketing and Legal functions. Previous roles in her 12-year career with Henny Penny included Chief Financial Officer, Chief People Officer and Controller. As the CFO, Carolyn had an integral role leading Henny Penny from a family-owned business to an ESOP enterprise in 2015. In the year prior she assisted with the acquisition of the Wood Stone Corporation, a $30M manufacturer of stone-hearth pizza oven in Bellingham, Washington. Her passion for driving the company’s strategic People First initiatives to strengthen manager-employee relationships, provide career development opportunities and improve the overall well-being of employees and their families led to dramatic improvement in employee engagement, and a Best Places to Work designation by the Dayton Business Journal in 2020.

Carolyn also has 15 years of experience with The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, a $1B publicly held business forms manufacturer and software development company serving the automotive and health care industries. She served as interim CFO, the Vice President of Finance and Treasurer, Director of Internal Audit and Director of Supply Management during her time at Reynolds and Reynolds. As VP of Finance, she was responsible for managing a wholly owned leasing subsidiary, Reyna Capital Corporation, and grew its revenue by more than 10% after forging new relationships with Chrysler Pentestar and General Motors Dealer Equipment.

Starting her career in public accounting as an auditor for Ernst & Young in the Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio offices, Carolyn served public and privately held companies in the life/health insurance, construction and real estate industries. She stayed with the firm for three years and in that time held progressive responsibilities while earning her Certified Public Accountant and Certified Managerial Accountant certifications.

Carolyn graduated sum cum laude from the University of Dayton with a baccalaureate degree in Accounting and concentration in Psychology. As a first-generation college student, she earned numerous scholarships including the Arthur H. Carter scholarship awarded to outstanding students in the accounting curriculum who are nominated by the School’s accounting faculty. She also served as President of Beta Alpha Psi and was inducted into the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity.

In the last 25 years, Carolyn served on the Board of Directors for the United Way and was voted Class Representative for her Leadership Dayton cohort before serving on its Board. She also served as Secretary for the Board of Trustees at Greater Dayton Public Television/Think TV and Audit Chair for the Reynolds and Reynolds Employees Federal Credit Union. She is currently a member of the Advisory Committee for the Accounting Department of the University of Dayton and was recently recognized as the 2018 Beta Alpha Psi Alum of the Year for her service to that organization.
