Community Parent Seminars
Each year, Marburn Academy offers a series of Community Seminars, which focus on current research and innovation in the area of learning differences.
The seminars discuss topics including reading, writing, spelling, math, and self-management as they relate to students who struggle in school.
Free Early Reading Screenings
Marburn’s Free Early Reading Screenings provide parents of kindergarteners, first and second-graders with early awareness of the potential for reading problems before children encounter failure. Research has established that Phonemic Awareness deficits are the major cause of reading difficulties in students.
Tutoring
Tutoring is focused on building academic skills, remediating areas of need, and developing confidence as a learner. Lessons are emotionally sound, diagnostic, multi-sensory, hands-on, and individualized for your child’s needs.
Tutoring Benefits
Tutors get to know your child’s strengths and challenges to create lessons that work for them.
Tutors are trained and supervised by Marburn in the best practices of teaching reading, writing, and mathematics.
Receive communication about your child’s progress on a regular basis.
Professional Training
Faculty training sessions conducted at public schools and educators’ conferences have served more than 10,000 educators in the past decade. In addition, Marburn Academy annually provides high-level Orton-Gillingham training to teachers and hosts an annual conference on learning differences – MarburnCon.
Summer School
Our Summer School for students in grades K–6 introduces Phonemic Awareness and the Orton-Gillingham approach to the Central Ohio area.
