NEW ALBANY, Ohio, July 8, 2018 – As of July 1st, following the resignation of the Head of School, long-time Marburn Academy employee Scott Burton has been appointed Interim Head of School.
Burton has spent most of his career at Marburn Academy, first as a teacher for five years, then as the Dean of Students and Admission Director for 21 years, and most recently as the Associate Head of School for the past eight years.
“Scott has long been an important pillar in the Marburn community for more than thirty years. He has always made Marburn Academy, its students, and its community a priority,” said Board Chair, Brian K. Hicks of Hicks Partners, LLC. “When the Board learned Jamie Williamson had taken another position, we knew Scott was the right choice to lead the School during our search for the new Head”.
As Burton moved to Interim Head of School, the Interim Associate Head of School was filled by former Academic Dean, Jennifer Martin-Gledhill. Martin-Gledhill also brings extensive experience to the role having served students and families at Marburn for 12 years.
The Marburn Academy Board has retained John Littleford and Associates as the official search firm. Interviews are currently underway. Interested parties can access the official posting available on the Marburn Academy website – MarburnAcademy.org.
