NEW ALBANY, Ohio, November 16, 2018 – Following the recent resignation of current Head of School, Jamie Williamson, Marburn Academy will begin its search for new leadership.
Williamson who submitted his resignation, effective June 2019, on November 12th will take the headmaster position at The Windward School in New York.
Williamson has been instrumental in Marburn’s growth over the last four years. Under his leadership and through the development of a four-year strategic plan with key stakeholders, the School increased its student enrollment by more than 30 percent, introduced new educational standards for success, raised record-breaking scholarship support to allow more students who learn differently access to a Marburn education, and elevated the School’s profile nationally through its innovative outreach work.
“We are proud of what Marburn has accomplished during Jamie’s tenure and we are grateful to him for his vision and leadership. The Board of Trustees recognizes the importance of finding the next great leader to assume the headship, and to that end, a national search is underway,” said Board Chair, Brian K. Hicks of Hicks Partners, LLC.
The Board will be retaining a search firm and the official posting will be available soon on the Marburn Academy website – MarburnAcademy.org.
